Sparx is our resident Quaker Parrot. She's been with us since she was a little baby Quaker, and she's now a mere 4 years old.  She quickly stole our hearts and has become the sweetest, smartest little bird we've ever met! 

She dines on her favorite foods, and is hard-pressed to try any new foods, but once we convince her, she usually ends up loving whatever food we pressured her into trying.  Her favorite foods change with the seasons, but currently she loves cucumbers, carrots, For the Love of Ginger (Beak Apetit) and dried pineapple.

She is a very smart little bird who wasted no time at all learning her repertoire of tricks- Basketball, Ring Toss, Barbell lift, Skateboard, Shapes, Teach Box and more.  She loves a challenge, anything to keep her smart little mind occupied.  She hopes to someday be a contestant on Pet Star!

Sparx has been fully flighted for over 2 years, now, and we couldn't be more thrilled!  Contrary to popular beliefe, she behaves very well as a fully flighted "house bird," and we're even working on flight training with her!

During the summer of '09, she had close call with a Peregrine Falcon, and we've since had to halt her Flight Training outdoors.  She is okay, but it was a stressful day; so check out her article on the experience so you can avoid that situation!

She currently lives in a roomy indoor cage, but we someday hope to let her spread her wings in a spacious outdoor aviary with a Sun Conure pal when we relocate to a warmer, sunnier state of residence.  She loves to watch T.V. during the day, her favorite shows are Spongebob Square Pants and The Penguins of Madagascar.
