Cajeput (cage-e-put) is a tree native to Australia, whose bark is spongey and flakes off easily. The Cajeput tree produces a natural oil often used for aromatherapy, and can have a soothing effect when chewed by animals. The Cajeput branch offers a soft, comfortable perch for birds and parrots alike.

The cajeput tree is also known as the paperbark tree due to it’s soft, layered outer bark. The cajeput tree has been used to make tea for centuries by indigenous people in Australia, Indonesia and SE Asia. Oil is extracted commercially from the cajeput tree and used for a variety of medicinal purposes.
